Sweet Pea
Family: Fabaceae
Genus: Lathyrus

Species: Lathyrus latifolius

The Everlasting Sweet Pea’s lacy appearance belies its hardiness and longevity. Its three-part leaves comprise two leaflets with a branched tendril. The five-petal flowers bloom on long stalks (peduncles) above the foliage.

The Everlasting Pea (Lathyrus latifolius) is the perennial form of the annual Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus). The annual form is fragrant while the perennial form is not.
